Jinja city is arguably Uganda’s adventure capital; it’s the heartbeat and gem of unrivaled bea uty, an asset to Uganda of homogenous economic potential and a true testimony to natures beauty. It’s a host to the world’s famous River Nile; it anchors Uganda’s major power dams, hence pulling off a as scenic and tranquil town. It’s as well serves as an industrial city in the country, with over 80 industries, employing over 13000 people.
This trip will enable you to understand the major pillars of Uganda including, agriculture along the Jinja highway, main cash crops like sugarcane and tea are grown and processed by industries in Jinja city. The thick vegetation of Mabira forest and most importantly the source of the NILE where Lake Victoria meets river Nile.

Itineraries
Day 1
City Tour
You will be picked up from Entebbe/Kampala at 7:00am, after your early morning breakfast( you may decide to pack it and have it along the way), and proceed to the Eastern part of Uganda with our first stopover at Sezibwa falls, which is 45mins drive from Kampala , located in mukono town. It’s a wonderful place for nature walk, birding picnics, a limited hike to the top of the falls, and the cultural worship grounds with their lush greenery grounds which are suitable for camping with the sound of the falls in the background.
Then proceed to Lugazi, be sure to see green covered hilly plantations of tea. These are beautiful and the atmosphere is fresh and clean. You will move out of the car for awhile, and take some beautiful pictures.
You will then proceed to Mabira forest. Its Uganda’s largest tropical rainforest strategically located along this Jinja highway, it covers about 300km. it’s a home to many endangered species of animals and birds including the primate lophocebus Ugandae, and many more. You will be in position to see numerous tree/plant species and enjoy the cool and fresh air in the forest.
You will then proceed to the tourism city, Jinja, you will stopover at the magnificent Jinja bridge for photos, you will equally witness how the massive volumes of water calmly flow beneath the bridge and makes reflections when the water is hit by the sun rays creating a kaleidoscope.
You will proceed for lunch at Jinja Nile resort, take a short tour and around Jinja town, starting from the Jinja railway stations, see the railway line that connects Uganda to Kenya, and view diesel locomotives. You will proceed to the Hindi temple which has a bronze statue of Gandhi and visit the golf course which possesses a very beautiful view of the Nile and Lake Victoria. Finally visit memorial gardens where some of Mahatma Gandhi ashes were scattered.
You will enjoy a 1 hour boat cruise and visit the actual point where the Nile starts from, view the speak monument, where John Speke stood when he discovered the source of the Nile. You will also get to see number of water birds, in the isolated tiny isolated islands on the lake. You will end the day with the boat cruise and then proceed back to Kampala/Entebbe that will mark the end of your one day Jinja city trip.
Other activities that you can enjoy around Jinja include; zip lining in Mabira, bungee jumping, quad biking, kayaking , horse riding as well white water rafting, Tubing the Nile, birdwatching,. On your way back to Kampala, you will stopover at Namawojolo roadside market, here you will get a chance to enjoy various BBQS, roasted foods like maize, yams, cassava, plantain and some refreshments, then embark on your journey to Kampala.
