This one day school will have students exploring the most relevant study sites around Kampala
.Students will be in position to practically see what they have studied in class over the years, as
they visit; kololo Airstrip, Uganda Museum, Parliamentary chambers, Kasubi tombs,
independence monument and the capital city in general.

DETAILED ITINERARY
This school trip will start at 8:00AM with departure from the school premises after the students’
breakfast and assembly; the school management will address the students about the expected
code of conduct while at the trip. The tourism representative (guide) will as well give clear
instructions and expectations to the students namely;
No student is expected to move away from the general team
All students should pay attention to instructions passed on while on the trip
Students are required to keep discipline and order while on the trip.
No any form of immorality or hooliganism shall be accepted while on the trip.

Itineraries
ACTIVITY 1;
UGANDA MUSUEM
It is the oldest museum in East Africa; it was established by the British government in 1908.
Students will learn and appreciate the Ugandan culture and history. Numerous items displayed
include; BEAD WORK, TRADITIONAL TOOLS AND WEAPONS, It also features a collection of
traditional musical instruments which are free. This site is important that students visit it so that
they get practical with the history and culture of the country, in so doing they learn and
appreciate it more.
ACTIVITY2;
KOLOLO AIRSTRIP
Kololo ceremonial grounds, was Uganda’s first airport, constructed in 1936. The most
memorable ceremony was held here “Uganda Independence Day ‘’ as well as most National
celebrations, a number of heroes are buried here including Ignatius Musazi kangave and
former president Pro. Yusuf kironde Lule. This site is important for students to visit, because it
holds so much state value and will unveil a lot of the Ugandan history
ACTIVITY 3;
LUNCH
After the kololo airstrip tour students will have lunch , relax and then head further for more fun
and study.
ACTIVITY 4;
PARLIAMENTARY CHAMBERS
This is where the legislative branch of the government sits and tables pertinent issues
concerning the nation. The students will get a chance to see the Speakers Cabinet and where
honorable sit to discuss matters on table and learn more about the parliament of the country. On
a lucky day, students will be invited to join the parliamentarians as they discuss numerous
issues.
ACTIVITY 5;
INDEPENDENCE MONUME NT
Out of the parliament the students will head straight to the independence monument given that
it’s a just a few meters away the students will learn will learn more about the independence and
history of the country as a whole. The independence monument is an iconic sculpture and a
landmark that portrays the center where Uganda, received her independence on 9th 1962. It’s
important for students to visit monument so that they learn more about the history of the
country.
ACITIVITY 6;
KASUBI TOMBS.
The students will eventually head to Kasubi city for the yet more lessons and fun, they will head
out and have a simple city tour along the way.
This site is known as the burial ground for the kabaka’s and other members of the Buganda
royal clan. It is an important example for traditional culture and architecture, it’s important that
students visit this site to appreciate more what is taught in class. The students will then head
back to school, marking it a trip that is worthwhile.
