This one day school will have students exploring the most relevant study sites around Kampala
.Students will be in position to practically see what they have studied in class over the years, as
they visit; Mengo palace, Kabaka’s Lake Kasubi Tombs, Ntake bakery

DETAILED ITINERARY
This school trip will start at 8:00AM with departure from the school premises after the students’
breakfast and assembly; the school management will address the students about the expected
code of conduct while at the trip. The tourism representative (guide) will as well give clear
instructions and expectations to the students namely;
No student is expected to move away from the general team
All students should pay attention to instructions passed on while on the trip
Students are required to keep discipline and order while on the trip.
No any form of immorality or hooliganism shall be accepted while on the trip.

Itineraries
ACTIVITY 1;
MENGO PALACE
It was constructed in 1885, by kabaka Mwanga ii, after taking dominion over the kingdom at 18
years of age .it’s located on Mengo hill. The most eyes catching are the statues of the animals
that hold cultural value to countrymen that are aligned along the palace hallway as you
approach the palace. Be sure to look out for the famous underground torture chamber built by
Idi Amini, thus was a dark concrete tunnel with extreme darkness, dump cells, which were
separated by an electrified water passage to prevent escape of prisoners. On ground are
charcoal messages written by prisoners, as well as the scrap metal remains of kabaka
Mutesa’s Rolls Royce destroyed by Amin
ACTIVITY 2:
KASUBI TOMBS.
Having learnt more about the history of the Buganda kingdom. It’s just important to learn more
about the history and proceed to Kasubi tombs. This site is known as the burial ground for the
kabaka’s and other members of the Buganda royal clan. It is an important example for
traditional culture and architecture, it’s important that students visit this site to appreciate more
what is taught in class.

LUNCH
The students will have lunch relax and proceed to kabaka’s lake
ACTIVITY 4:
KABAKA’S LAKE.
This is the largest manmade lake in Uganda located in Ndeeba, its 5km away from Kampalacity,
it was constructed between 1885 and 1888 by the 52 clans of Buganda kingdom. It
occupies about 2 square kilometers and 200 feet deep. It is surrounded by tall trees, green
grasses, and the two islands make it more beautiful. it is a home to various bird species like
great white Egrets ,Headed ibis, black headed weaver, open biked stork ,African dater
,among others. It offers a beautiful background for photos.
ACTIVITY 5:
NTAKE GROUP
Ntake Group is a multi-sector business involved in bread and confectionary, real estate, paper
recycling, purified drinking water, transport and haulage, food and outside catering, bridal wear
and general hardware.
Ntake Group brings together all the companies, projects and ventures involved in these

ability to innovate; the students will interact with the team at the factory, hence learning more
about the operations and applicability of the knowledge learned from class, in the actual
business world.
As well as its business activities, Ntake is a committed contributor to the communities in which
it operates. Students will learn more business management and skills and further more details
of baking.
Students will return to school late evening. Each student will be tasked to write a report about
the trip, clearly indicating the relevance of the trip to their studies and day to day lives. That will
mark the end of the 1 day school trip.
