Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is located in Nakasongola district, it’s a home to about 32 Southern White Rhinos and has become very popular to tourists who are interested in Rhino trekking. The sanctuary also offers other activities which include night and day walks, canoe riding and bird watching. The sanctuary is also a home to several wildlife species such as Colobus and vervet monkeys and mongoose.

Day 1
RHINO TREKKING AT ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY
This one day Rhino trekking tour, will commence after your early morning breakfast, you will leave for a 3-4 hours journey to Nakasongola via Kampala-Luwero route. Branch off from Nakitoma about 7KM and get to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary early enough for Rhino trekking experience with the site tour guide.
While at the sanctuary, expect to spot not only White Rhinos but also Antelopes, birds and a lot more wildlife. In the search for the rhinos, you will as well enjoy the nature walk through the green fields, you will see numerous indigenous plants and trees, which most are shelter and home as well food to the wild life. You will enjoy one hour face to face with Rhinos, capture their pictures learn their behaviors and return from your foot walk experience.
You will then get a chance to do the canoeing and bird watching this yet another fun and yet underrated activity, expect to see various bird species including ,Abdims stork ,African black crake, African broad bill, African citril ,African black headed oriole among others. You will enjoy with the help of the experienced guide that will take through the activity and illustrate how best you can enjoy the activity.
You will have late lunch at kabalega dinners, you will relax and then head back to Kampala along the way, you will get a chance to stopover at the roadside markets and grab yourself some fresh and yummy fruits and vegetables including, mangoes, oranges, pineapples. You will continue with your journey to Kampala and be dropped off at your hotel or desired destination. That will mark the end of your 1 day Rhino Trekking at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary
