Uganda Wildlife Education Center(UWEC) formerly known as Entebbe Zoo was established in 1952 by the colonial government for which the most important purpose was to protect wild animals that were found as causalities. Besides that its one of the most prominent conservation education institutions in Africa, that’s carrying out the mandate of educating Ugandans about the importance of conserving the country’s biodiversity. Most importantly, it plays a role in rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife species and later takes them back to the wild so as to prevent extinction of their kind.

Your Plan
This 2 hours entertaining and educative adventure offers an exciting special inside look tours and interesting information about how we can care about the animals and birds. you will have a close up and personal encounter with the Giraffes, Rhinos, Elephants, birds both big and small, Lions, and many more, you also get a chance to feed them and enter their cages under guidance and watch of the professional caretaker.
CHIMPANZEE CLOSE-UP EXPERIENCE(300USD)
Your Plan
In the company of a keeper, you will take a walk to island moat. You will observe the chimps enjoying life on trees, learning and adapting while building confidence and trust of other chimps who in turn become their long term allies. You will listen to the chimps caregiver talk about how each of them came to the zoo, their behavior and challenges. Be ready to groomed by infants and equally return the favor, your guide will help you interpret the different sounds, gestures and advise on how to whilst your closest cousins. You will witness chimps asking for food, peeling bananas, drinking water from bottles and so much more.
KEEPER OF THE DAY(150USD)
Your Plan
You will spend time the animal keepers, who will share their passion for animals with you, experience the keeper’s everyday work and come very close and constant with all kinds of local animals. Get to release the Felines from their cages, feed a Rhino, Giraffe, Elephant while coming in direct contact with all of the them. You will participate in hands on activities such as preparing animal meals, cleaning enclosures and providing enrichments to stimulate them both mentally and physically.
FOREST TRAIL(15 USD)
Your Plan
You will experience a one kilometer natural pristine forest walk with free ranging birds, mammals, butterflies and chameleons etc. you will be in position to learn about plants and their medicinal values in the centers, garden with over 100 plants that grace the grounds and create a peaceful landscape for both the visitors an d the centers resident animals
During your visit, you will develop and important understanding of their role in protecting and conserving natural resources. The center gives you memorable wild experiences throughout the year. You will get up-close with your own personal tour guide; you will enjoy bike rides, donkey and camel rides as well as meals in the restaurant, overlooking Lake Victoria.
